Gödöllő Castle - the royal residence half an hour from Budapest

The Royal Palace in the town of Gödöllő is a luxury and grandeur that commands respect. Built in the Baroque style, the palace takes visitors back to the blessed time of the 19th century. The history of Godelle is very interesting. It wasn't often that cities were founded the way he was. Usually settlements arose spontaneously - around a fortress or a castle. And the local town was created by order of the customer of the future royal palace. One of the brilliant Hungarian feudal lords, the richest man and minister of Empress Maria Theresa, Count Antal I Grasszalkovich was a zealous Catholic. Deciding to build his residence near Budapest, he preferred that people of his faith live around it. The architect of the palace was ordered to develop a series of cozy houses for the German colonists, who professed Catholicism.

In the 1st century, on the site of Szentendre, there was a military camp of the ancient Romans and a fortress called Ulcisia-Kastra. Only in the 11th century, a city was founded in its place under the Latin name Sanctus Andreas, which means “Saint Andrew” in translation. At the end of the 14th century, Serbs and Greeks rushed to Szentendra, who fled from Turkish oppression. Among the refugees there were many merchants and artisans, thanks to whom the town began to develop and flourish. True, due to plague epidemics and floods, Szentendre in its development every now and then turned out to be thrown back. In the 1900s, the town of St. Andrew was chosen by artists who opened their workshops and galleries here. But today, the former bohemia, who lived in Szentendre, moved to Budapest.

15.00  Lillafüred is a charming resort town in North-Eastern Hungary, located about 2 hours drive from Budapest, in a beautiful valley near the Sinva mountain river, and protected from three sides by the Bükk mountain range.
On the shore of a crystal-clear mountain lake called Hamori in 1927, an amazing and beautiful Palace was built, drowning in a park with hanging gardens, mountain waterfalls and ancient plants. The architecture managed to harmoniously combine several styles: Neo-Renaissance, reviving the traditions of the Renaissance, with elements of the Baroque, characteristic of the architecture of the 18th century.
